Nominate a Gator (or Yourself!) for UF’s 40 Under 40
Every year, the University of Florida recognizes 40 outstanding Gators under the age of 40 who are making a meaningful difference in their industries, communities, and the world.
Applications are now open for the 2026 UF 40 Under 40, and I want to encourage Gators from across New England to apply, or to nominate someone you know who should.
If you know a Gator who’s doing great things in their field or making a big impact through service, this is the moment to lift them up. And if you’re that Gator? Don’t be shy! This is your time to shine.
Who’s Eligible?
To be considered for UF’s 40 Under 40, nominees must:
Be a University of Florida graduate in good standing
Be under the age of 40 as of December 31, 2025
Demonstrate professional achievement and impact within their field or industry
Show civic leadership and service that benefits society
Reflect UF’s mission and values through their work and contributions
And just to be clear—you don’t need to be a CEO or have a fancy title to apply. This award is about impact, leadership, and service. We’re looking for educators, engineers, artists, scientists, public servants, entrepreneurs, and anyone else who’s making a difference in ways big or small. If you’re moving the needle in your space, you belong in this conversation.
How to Get Involved
There are two ways to participate:
Apply now if you meet the criteria and want to share your story
Nominate someone who you think deserves the spotlight (they’ll receive an email encouraging them to apply)
The deadline to apply is Monday, September 8, 2025 at 5:00 PM (ET).
You can also check out last year’s 2025 honorees here to see the kinds of impact Gators are making around the world—and to get inspired.
More details on the program are available on the official UF 40 Under 40 page.
We don’t see New England Gators on this list nearly enough—and I’d love to change that.
If you have any questions about the process, or want someone to review your nomination materials, I’m happy to help however I can. I applied last year myself, and I’d love to see more of our local alumni recognized for the work they’re doing.
Go Gators,
Tyrel Clayton
