Event Recap: A Candlepin Catastrophe at the FL/GA Bowling Tournament

Tragedy has struck, Gator Nation… the annual FL/GA Bowling Tournament took place on October 30th, and, despite our team’s mighty efforts, the night ended in heartbreak. Candlepin bowling—our beloved but unpredictable New England twist on the sport—dealt us a cruel hand, and we lost by a mere four pins.

The Battle Begins

The scene was set at Southie Bowl, with a lineup of five brave Gators facing off against six spirited Bulldogs. Two games of intense candlepin action kept everyone on edge, with each frame bringing us closer to glory… or disaster. We had moments of brilliance (and some of not so much), but Gators stayed fierce from start to finish. Alas, even our best form couldn’t quite tip the scales this time.

Capturing the Aftermath

Despite the defeat, spirits remained high, and we have the photos to prove it! From the intense focus of our bowlers to the good-natured banter at the ball return, these shots capture a night of camaraderie and classic rivalry. Check out the photos below for a peek at this unforgettable showdown.

Redemption Awaits!

Though the Gator side fell short, this battle is far from over. Next year’s rematch will be our time to reclaim victory! Until then, mark your calendar for our upcoming public board meeting on November 19 if you’d like to join us in planning more thrilling events, and find more happenings on our events page.

Thanks to all who came out, and Go Gators! We’ll get ’em next year!
