Toys for Tots Volunteer Day Recap

On Saturday, December 14, the New England Gator Club® rolled up its sleeves and got to work at the Boston Toys for Tots chapter during our Toys for Tots Volunteer Day. Held at the Boston Convention Center from 9 AM to 12 PM, this event gave us a chance to contribute to a wonderful cause and spread some holiday cheer.

Our group of seven volunteers included five UF alumni, one dedicated partner of an alum, and even one of our board members’ son!

The task at hand? Bagging toys. After the toys were sorted by age and gender into categories (0-3, 4-6, and 7+ for both boys and girls), they made their way into our hands in room 2. We then packed 10 toys of the same age/gender group into large plastic bags and transported them to the next room for final counting and distribution.

Together, our team bagged over 1,000 toys in just three hours—a small but significant contribution to Toys for Tots’ mission of delivering hope and joy to children in need during the holiday season.

The energy among the volunteers was infectious. Teamwork and camaraderie were on full display as we worked together to make a difference. The event not only allowed us to give back to the community but also brought us closer as a group.

As we reflect on this impactful day, we want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who joined us. Whether you’re a Gator alum, family, or friend, your efforts made this event a success. To those who couldn’t make it this time, we encourage you to join us at our next volunteering opportunity. Let’s keep the momentum going and continue to show how Gators give back!

Check out the photos below to see our team in action. Thank you, Boston Toys for Tots, for allowing us to be a part of this important work.

Go Gators!
